A HOUSE in West Devon was badly damaged after fire broke out.

Three hours after the blaze in Princetown last night, one fire crew was still on the scene damping down.

Fire crews from Princetown, Tavistock and Yelverton were called to the incident in Tavistock Road. The Princetown crew, under Watch Commander John Webber, was first on the scene and found the house well alight.

Firefighters tackled the blaze with one hosereel jet and one main jet. No one was in the building, but a woman was treated for shock.
