Relegated Tavvy enjoy Cornwood consolation

TAVISTOCK must have been left with that 'what if' feeling after they defeated Cornwood by three wickets.
Tavvy couldn't win a game when it mattered to save themselves from relegation, but since knowing they were doomed have won two on the bounce.
Cornwood were skittled out for 121 by South African paceman Steve Dembitzer, with assistance from Gareth Tidball (2-37) and Shaun Cleave (2-12).
Kevin Willcock made 33 against his former club and Martyn Cooksley had 32 in a stand of 64.
Tavvy got the wobbles when they nosedived from 79 for two to 92 for five as veteran spinner Dave Petherbridge (4-49) got stuck into them.
But Cornwood couldn't shift opener Gareth Tidball, who batted through to make a match-winning 56 not out.
B DIVISION
PLYMOUTH Civil Service ended a disappointing season on a high when they won by five wickets at Bideford.
Civil already knew they were down before they got to Bideford, who they hustled out for 120. Alan Withcombe was Bideford's top scorer with 22 as Chris Newton (5-51) and Nathan Bulley (3-9) dominated.
Civil had victory wrapped up in a hurry inside 22 overs. A stand of 57 between Andy Hawker (33) and Nigel Piddock (25) broke the back of the chase, and then Phil Bayliss (19no) and Jan Walaszkowski (23) wrapped things up.
Plymstock have been hit and miss all season – so an 88-run defeat away to Clyst St George was hardly surprising for Dave Orchard's sixth-placed side.
Clyst's Tim Read (20) and Peter Andrews (40) made good runs at the start – they put on 50 – and then Steve May (24) and Paul Laverick (32) hit 54 at the end.
Inbetween there were runs for Alex Blest (31) and wickets for Jack Thomas (3-69), Morgan Parkinson (2-20) and Seb Jordan (2-47) in Clyst's 221 for nine. Plymstock started brightly enough with Heather Knight making 30 and Orchard (34) shared a stand of 53 with Andy Richards (23).
The wheels fell off when Pete Weatherhead and Chris Cook got down to business.
Plymstock's last five wickets went down for just seven runs as Weatherhead (6-33) and Cook (2-32) got stuck in.
