Whitchurch dominated the game, but could not bowl leaders Yelverton out to snatch a result.
Yelverton took nine points for a losing draw,meaning second-placed Whitchurch can't overtake them. They can finish level, but Yelverton have won four more games which would swing it their way.
Whitchurch posted 201 for eight in their 46 overs – old reliables Nicho Oliver (73no) and Martyn Credicott (35) leading the way. Rob Bennett (39) and Adam Nicholas (23) were Yelverton's main run getters in a reply of 150 for eight.
Woodland Fort had an enjoyable away day at Kelly College in Tavistock, where they defeated Lustleigh by 92 runs.
Fort's ground at Manadon is out of action to due pitch vandalism and they were hugely grateful when Kelly groundsman Dean Elliott stepped in with the offer of a pitch.
Fort made 164 for nine, Will Sykes hitting 53 –then skittled Lustleigh out for 72 in reply.
Fort quickly lost both openers to Paul Foot (4-46) before Sykes and Matt Mackay put on 36, the latter getting got out to Mike Sessions (2-24) for 19.
Sykes continued to bat until nearly the end with a variety of low-scoring partners. He was dismissed with five overs left and Fort on 140.
Rob Stone (12no) came in to push the score up at the end.
The Lustleigh chase never really got started as Jamie Reynolds (5-17) tore into them.
Of the top order only Steve Wright (18) showed any resistance. At 32 for four Sessions came in and biffed 25 before Mike Burnett (3-5) had him caught and bowled.
Burnett picked up two more to bowl Lustleigh out for 72.
Five points off Exeter Civil Service this Saturday will secure Fort's E Division future for another season.
