Devils chief targets wins at Buxton and Scunny
Friday, August 22, 2008, 07:00
Plymouth travel to Buxton on Sunday (3pm) and Scunthorpe on Monday (5pm) for their penultimate and last away trips of the regular league season, respectively.
The Devils have yet to meet Buxton this season, but they have already faced – and beaten – Scunthorpe, 58-34.
"Buxton away is by no means an easy trip to make," said Bowden.
"But they are set to be without Jack Roberts, who is a very good rider, and John Branney, so that makes our task of winning a little easier.
"We want to go there and get another victory and I can see no reason why we can't do that.
"Paul Starke is returning to his former club and his old track and I am sure he will be firing on all cylinders."
Bowden added of Monday's trip to Scunthorpe: "We have already beaten Scunthorpe this season, but we want to do the double over them for the first time ever.
"They are a tough team to beat, particularly at home.
"But with the team we have got, providing everyone performs to the best of their ability, I know we can go there and get the win."
