“Perhaps jtme1 would be so kind as to draw a line on a map showing us the exact boundaries of the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean?”

“It's bizarre, this city has so much going for it and yet the council fail to utilise any of it, it's like they work for a different council....hmmmm..”

“It is a ridiculous for Plymouth to be considered for City of Culture in 2017,with no Airport, half the shops in the City Center closed down,pot-holes galore around the city, and now someone is suggesting that Plymouth that Plymouth being known as 'Ocean City',a far more apt name would be 'Ghost Town'.Why does everything stop at Bristol or Exeter? The Airport needs investment, the city needs a lot of regeneration.
Why not re-open the Airport, create new jobs by re-building the Pier, this would also generate a lot of money for the city.”

“The City Councillors are so very out of touch. Feed from an utter desire to appear on BBC Spotlight and in other media attractions etc. I made up a phrase in 2003 - Life begins at forty but stops at Exeter. One City have really seen develop during this time is Exeter. Airport, will it ever reopen - that is a probably not situation. Housing being built on the old site of the Airport is a very strong possibility. Just see how much Council Tax could be drawn down to waste from this. They are put in these positions, never like real hard questions. I conclude they are just looking after themseleves and doesn't really matter what happens oe what we want. So is it a joke? Yes.”

“I see the logic in wildfrank's comment. Perhaps our councillors aren't our councillors. Perhaps they're Exeter's councillors working undercover.

Listen, if you lifted the UK (and Ireland) up into the air and looked down, would you see the English Channel or the Atlantic Ocean?
My guess is the answer would be the latter. It will always be the Atlantic. The English Channel just a convenient name to identify the strait between us and the French and it's part of the Atlantic, which is an ocean.”
