“A blue Badge is a lifeline to probably the 98% of holders 2% abuse the grant of the badge , the badge is not awarded locally it is approved on a national standard ,the Police have new powers to request the user to qualify its use .
Now the Council wish to drive the disabled from the City Centre .
Another message to the old and infirm by politicians , " hurry up and die "
Thank God for the out of town shops , with their free parking and dedicated bays for the disabled and mothers and children , the City Centre deserves all it gets if it cannot stand up for all its customers .
As for the man in his little camera car out at all hours earning a crust for PCC , keep up the work , all the shop will soon be gone , that should validate your worth.”

“I nearly got run down in the pedestrian area of town the other day, by the Council's so called traffic safety car, the one that zooms around with a camera photographing any tiny infringement, like stopping momentarily to let someone get out of the car. Not that there were any there, just the camera car zooming through the pedestrian area like a predatory shark on the hunt and woe betide any pedestrian who can't get out of the way quickly enough. My walking stick should have given a clue that I can't exactly run, but my hobbling along mustn't delay its important work. Someone on the other side of town may get away with stopping on a double yellow line and we all know how such a dastardly act can delay traffic. Almost as much as roadworks and traffic lights and stupidly designed road junctions and bus lanes. So its my fault for first, trying to find a parking space and second, trying to walk in the pedestrian area of a city centre that obviously doesn't want people to go there.”
“Is Plymouth Council trying to sneak in parking charges for Blue Badge holders? The new barriers at the Mayflower Street car park, along with the parking charge information inside, states that all drivers, including disabled drivers, must now pay to park in this car park.
What next? Will they announce that this was a trial and such a success that charges will be brought in for all disabled drivers throughout the city? On that point, on walking through that car park today, well over half the disabled spaces were vacant. Prior to this it was regularly full. So where do these people now park, or do they shop out of town thus decimating more town centre business?
By all means crack down on people using the Blue Badge but who have no right to do so, but not those with a genuine disability.”
