“Why is this listed as a news story? It's just comments related to a story that I would find interesting if I could only read it. It's another example of the shockingly low standards on show on this website. Sadly the point under discussion is newsworthy and relevant so will the editor please get off his lazy backside and put these comments in context WITH the story to which they are connected. The standard of journalism on this site and inside the herald has always been decidedly second-rate and slap-dash but this is beyond a joke.”

“Can someone provide a link to the article in question, please?
I don't understand why the Herald don't get this;- by having the default setting as 'most recently active' stories from 3 years ago stay at the top of the list if they are being commented on, whereas stories that don't allow comments (often the most serious, although perhaps not in this case) sink like a stone because they are not being commented on!”

“The story is here: http://tinyurl.com/78zd4jn
Alternatively, do a search on Herald homepage with word 'obese'.
I found the story ok, but when I tried to find this more recent thread complaining about it, was it on the first eight pages? No. I had to go into my history to find it.
The Herald site is still the worst designed and least effective I have ever visited. (Excluding those designed by Year 1 pupils.)
But hey, there are some lovely photos of sunsets, so that's all right.”

“Thanks for the links. Yes, unbelievable, isn't it? But I'm sure Tim is correct on both fronts. Officially because it's still an open case, but I'm sure the Herald moderators are glad they have to take that stance. Surprised this discussion has lasted as long as it has, actually!”

“You cannot comment because the voice of Plymouth is firmly closed when words that are likely to issue forth from it contradict the views of those who own operate this website. This site is so heavily censored half the time I wonder really why I bother to even comment on some stories sadly in Plymouth we have only a take it or leave it choice so I push it.
What really narks me is this paper claiming to be the Voice of Plymouth when it obviously is not it is the allowed views of the people of Plymouth as allowed by the Herald editors.”
