“Once upon a time traffic could sweep smoothly from one end of Royal Parade to the other, thanks to a big wide bright and breezy underpass that kept pedestrians away from traffic.
Then the Labour council bulldozed it in (destroying its famous mosaic murals in the process) and replaced it with a dangerous light-controlled crossing that stops traffic flow and places pedestrians at the whim of a control-freak little green man..”

“I'm sorry I dont drive and I'm all for traffic lights and if we didnt have any would most people stop in different places to allow pedestrians cross no it wouldnt happen because some drivers are impatient and think they rule the city ( not all drivers ) so we need traffic lights and it is sad that the subway on royal parade is gone I would rather that than traffic lights there”

“Now Plymouth once again has a Labour council perhaps someone at the Civic Centre could tell the Herald why it was once thought a good idea to spend a chunk of other people's money filling in one of the city-centre's many subways? It can't be anything to do with Health & Safety (the usual excuse for any action that defies logic) because otherwise the caring concil would have filled the others in as well.
Since the rationale behind getting rid of the underpass has always eluded motorists, pedestrians and bus-passengers isn't it about time the Council answered that one question: Why?”
“hi my name is jack jerrard and i live in new york i live in the area of bronx and there is so much traffic congestion here. i propose that we scrap the idea of traffic lights so no one will have to wait. but we will may have to create a few more hospitals.”
