“Plymouth City Council served me a summons re : Council Tax, mistakenly. Unfortunately the Baliff serving the paper had also dumped it through the letter box rather than serve it by hand. If i had been on Holiday they would probably have taken possession of my property by similar underhand means. They had base the summons upon information received incorrectly from an estate agent.
Of course once they realised their mistake they withdrew their summons, but never apologised.
One question, did they ever recover backdated Council Tax from City Councillors who refused to pay it on principle?
If PCC is this inefficient, even guilty people will be able to defeat them.”
“I was interested to read that Plymouth City Council made someone bankrupt recently for withholding their Council Tax payments for 3 years. So are PCC now hoping to get their money from the official receiver I take it? and what happens when they don't?”
