“I think it's clear that the loss of Plymouth Airport has had an impact on much more of the Southwest than just Plymouth.
Air Southwest carried over 50,000 passengers a year in transit through Plymouth and account for 60% of Newquay's traffic. The loss of Plymouth Airport/Air Southwest could well be the nail in the coffin for Newquay if they don't generate the amounts of income required to maintain the facility.”
“With the news yesterday that Newquay Airports passenger numbers have fallen in the last year and have been put down to Air southwest's withdrawal and susequent demise.Surely this must go some way to putting question marks over the reports and SHH'S statements that have led to closure of Plymouth Airport regarding passenger numbers and flights etc.”
