Do antidepressant drugs work? Professor Irving Kirsch and Professor Sir David Goldberg, will discuss the controversy regarding treatments for depression. In his recent book The Emperor's New Drugs: Exploding the Antidepressant Myth, Irving Kirsch argued that that many drugs licensed for use are ineffective and potentially harmful. David Goldberg is Professor Emeritus, at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. He has a special interest in improving mental health care and in developing effective therapies for the treatment of depression.
