Harvest Moon is an evening of belly dance in aid of hereditary breast cancer. At Harvest Moon you will find workshops taught by some excellent belly dance teachers, performances from dancers from all over the South West, a Souk including clothing, jewellery and much more, as well as a bar and cafe, a costume competition, fashion show, raffle and Middle Eastern drumming. Come along for a chance to dance, shop, and get a taste of the Middle East; Harvest Moon is going to be the biggest hafla of the year, bringing you the very best of belly dance! All of the profits are being donated to the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline.
Chakra Belly Dance will be hosting the event, and are a troupe of belly dancers based in Plymouth. They have been dancing together for four years, train every week and have now performed at countless events. The dancers have taken it upon themselves to become extreemely dedicated and passionate about belly dance and their troupe, and put an incredible ammount of effort in to everything they do; every performance from Charka Belly Dance is guaranteed to 'wow' you and put a smile on your face! Chakra Belly Dance pride themselves in diversity, and their representation of 'real women'. The troupe is made up of women of all ages, shapes, sizes and backgrounds and each dancer has her own belly dance forte and shows her individual personality on stage. Many of the troupe now choreograph themselves, and you will see several of them perform solos and duets at Harvest Moon.
Hafla times: main doors open at 5:30pm, evening closes at 11pm

Adult ticket: £7 in advance, £10 on the door
Child ticket: £5 in advance, £7 on the door. 'Child' is classed as under 12 years of age.
Workshop price: £6 per person
It is free to perform on the open stage. Anyone can take part in the costume competition for £2.

16:00 Cara's workshop, in the studio upstairs
17:00 Yasmin's workshop, in the studio upstairs
17:30 Main doors open. Souk opens.
18:00 Kay's workshop, in the studio upstairs. Fashion show starts in the main hall, on stage.
18:30 Open stage performances begin
20:00 Costume Competition, on stage
20:30 Open stage performances continue
22:00 Open stage performances finish, Middle Easter drummers come on to the dance floor
23:00 Doors close

6pm till 7pm. Kay is teaching a Tribal style workshop
Each workshop can hold a maximum of 15 people, and tickets must be booked and paid for in advance. (payment details will be provided on request)
