Be fair on fines
I WAS driving from the Plymstock direction where there are no visible 30mph signs, as there are from the Embankment approach.
I received a summons for travelling at 36mph which I contested and was fined £120 plus £60 court costs and £25 victim support fee for not pleading guilty.
Several Gdynia Way cases have received three points and a driver's awareness course, also drivers can receive £60 fines and three points. Mr Turner received £60 and £55 court costs.
I think there is a great difference between fines issued alongside the controversy of the speed limit in Gdynia Way.

“"where there are no visible 30mph signs" - so what? From the Highway Code: "A limit of 30 miles per hour (mph) or 48 kilometres per hour (km/h) usually applies to all traffic on all roads with street lighting. This applies unless you see signs showing otherwise.".”

“The 30mph zone begins at the Morrisons roundabout, so you were already in a 30mph when you entered Gdynia way. The previous drivers mentioned in the Herald pleaded guilty.”
