Tamaritans play The Price
07:12 - 14-July-2008
The Plymouth drama group takes to the Drum stage from Tuesday to present Arthur Miller's story of a family still damaged by the events of decades ago.
The Price, one of Miller's later and lesser-known works, is an examination of jealousy and rivalry between two estranged brothers. Walter, the elder, enjoyed a successful career in medicine. Victor gave up his studies and became a police officer to support and care for their father, whose life was ruined by the stock market crash of 1929.
Now the brothers are back at the family home in New York to arrange a sale of possessions to Solomon, a furniture dealer.
A cast change has seen director Geoff Strickland step in as Victor and his role overseeing the play is now in the hands of Niall Clinton.
Matt Becker plays Walter and David Martin is Solomon. Elary Chetwynd has the part of Victor's wife Esther.
The Price runs at the Drum, Theatre Royal from tomorrow until Saturday. Tickets are £10-£12 (Theatre Royal box office: 01752 267222).
