"The college gave me a fantastic foundation and the skills I needed to be able to progress within the industry and now to be enjoying a successful career in the local area."

Joe's former tutor, Clare Wade, said: "It was great to get in contact with Joe and to be able to invite him to come in and talk to our current students about his experiences and time in the industry since leaving college.

"The group really got a lot out of watching him in action and having the opportunity to ask questions about life in the industry."

Head of college Andrew Counsell said: "I think what Joe has achieved really highlights the way our courses prepare students for work. He has achieved a great deal of success for someone of his age and it was a pleasure to be able to invite him to Saltash to talk to our current students."

“On the contrary ODB, I did hear that one of the Wurzels is a regular in Joe's salon, and there is a rumour that once a man claiming to be a squad member at Plymouth Albion stopped in for some 'prophylactics'.”
