TWO men and a youth were in custody last night after they were arrested on suspicion of breaking into two cars in Tavistock.

Police said they received a call from a member of the public at about 4am yesterday, and officers attended the scene at Lumburn Cottages. Police said a blue Peugeot 306 and a green Vauxhall Astra had been broken into, but they did not yet know what had been stolen.

Police arrested one man in connection with the incident at an address in Callington two hours later. They then stopped a van on the A390 at St Ann's Chapel and two other men were taken into custody.

Last night, a 29-year-old man from Callington, a 17-year-old male from Launceston and a 34-year-old man from Whitleigh in Plymouth were in custody at Launceston Police Station. Witnesses should call police on 08452 777444, ref. 68/Dec16.
