CRAIG Noone  maintains that his priorities lie with Plymouth Argyle and cementing a starting place at Home Park, despite admitting he thoroughly enjoyed his brief spell at rivals Exeter City.

The left winger could go straight into the Pilgrims' squad to face Doncaster Rovers this Saturday, after his initial three-month loan deal was cut short by his parent club, with injuries and suspensions taking their toll on Paul Sturrock's team.

The Liverpudlian said: "When I joined Exeter I wanted to play games, prove a point and get back into the Plymouth team. That was my priority."

But the 21-year-old is keeping his options open and revealed that if his time back at Argyle provided limited first-team opportunities, he would not be averse to making the short trip back up the A38.

Noone said: "I would definitely consider coming back to Exeter. I enjoyed my time there. It's a good club and they treated me well. I liked the lads, the training ground and the manager, I played some games, did well and scored a few goals as well.

"But I would definitely go back to Exeter if it didn't work out at Plymouth. I was keen to go there in the first place. They have got a good team and play good football."

Noone signalled his arrival at St James' Park with a bang, after his cross-come-shot evaded Glenn Morris in the Leyton Orient goal, earning the Grecians a 1-1 draw back in September.

And it was this goal which the 21-year-old believes calmed any fears he had about making the switch from green to red. Noone said: "I was wary of the fans' reception, but at the Orient game when I scored I think they took to me then. They recognised I did well, played some games and they never once made me feel unwelcome."

And the winger ended his stay in the same manner in which it started, netting the third of City's three goals last weekend against Brentford.

The former Skelmersdale player played down the impact that him leaving the Grecians could have on the side: "I don't think me leaving will make much difference to them.

"They have got a good team, a good manager, they pass it around and they will definitely do well."

Tickets for this Saturday's FA Cup tie at Nuneaton Town are sale from reception at St James's Park until 6.30pm today and tomorrow. Tickets are £12 adults, £9 concessions and £5 under-12s.
