Why the lack of road signs?
I HAVE written to the Speed Camera Unit asking the following question concerning Shapters Road and Gdynia Way.
Can you tell me why there is no NEW ROAD LAYOUT AHEAD sign on Brunswick Road as you enter Shapters Road? It is possible, as I did, to leave Totem Timber, drive up Brunswick Road, join Shapters Road, drive around Cattedown roundabout and then drive down Shapters Road without seeing any NEW ROAD LAYOUT AHEAD sign.
Why are there two NEW ROAD LAYOUT AHEAD signs on St Judes bridge, one at the top of Exeter Street and yet none on the actual road concerned. Once you have passed those signs and travel on to the roundabout there are five exits where the new road layout could be. Why is there no sign at the beginning of Shapters Road? There are two oversized A38 signs on the roundabout which are not normal road signs which have obviously been put there to help motorists so why couldn't you put some oversized non standard 30 MPH signs and a NEW ROAD LAYOUT AHEAD sign there as well. You could have been more helpful to road users by putting up an oversized sign saying SPEED LIMIT REDUCED FROM 40MPH TO 30MPH.
