'We'll keep on fighting to prevent Devonwall'
CAMPAIGNERS fighting to "Keep Cornwall Whole" have welcomed a House of Commons decision to put off redrawing parliamentary boundaries until after the next General Election.
But the Saltash-based group warned the fight is not over.
MPs this week narrowly defeated the changes, which would have seen a constituency straddling the North Devon-North Cornwall border.
The group had earlier succeeded in seeing off proposals for an MP shared between Plymouth and part of South East Cornwall.

Adam Killeya, the former Mayor of Saltash, who founded the campaign, said: "This is fantastic news.
"We would have much preferred it if Cornwall had been explicitly protected in law."
He said the campaign would resume after the next General Election.
"What is key now is that we renew the fight for greater autonomy for Cornwall to prevent this kind of threat in the future," he added.
Conservative proposals to redraw parliamentary boundaries and cut the number of MPs were thwarted by a rebellion by their Liberal Democrat coalition partners.
