Five-marathon charity effort
ONE MAN is to run five marathons in five days to raise money for the charity promoting Scott of the Antarctic's expedition and research.
International Scott Centenary Expedition member Joe Woodward, 28, pictured right, will begin his five-marathon trek in August, beginning from Sennen Cove, near Land's End, and finishing in Scott's home city of Plymouth at Smeaton's Tower on the Hoe.

Mr Woodward, a freelance writer, said: "I was looking at ways to raise awareness and sponsorship for the ISCE and decided I'd like to do something that was in the spirit of Scott himself.
"I've never run further than a half marathon before, so it's certainly new territory."
The ISCE's aim is to advance education for the public benefit, in environmental topics, polar science and the importance of Captain Scott's expedition in advancing polar research.
Anyone wanting to support Mr Woodward can do so by donating through the new charity site at www.bmycharity.com/charities/isce2012.
