So now we have a new 30mph sign...
WHILST driving along Shapters Road out of Plymouth I noticed a brand new shiny 30mph and speed camera sign. I have been assured by the Speed Camera Unit, The Highways Department and the Police that there was no need for 30mph signs on that road as the signage in that area was perfectly legal.
I asked the RAC for help on this matter I have not received a reply. Now whether they or someone else has brought pressure to bear, we now have a sign albeit too late and in the wrong place (it should be at the start of the road). From this I can only assume the original lack of signage was illegal. Come on Plymouth City Council let's have all our fines, fees and points returned.

“Is this still doing the rounds?
I do wish A L Collins would retake his test and fail it due to his lack of understanding of the highway code”

“PCC would never ever admit they were wrong! We were right all this time and why should we complain about the lack of signs? I just feel sorry for drivers visiting Plymouth that they will leave with a ticket on a road which by rights should be 40mph !”

“Nice try AL Collins. I dare say the council were fed up with numpties complaining about the fact that they can't drive properly and so need more signs. It was easier to put up the extra sign.
How that proves that the lack of sign was illegal, God only knows.
Twisted logic, perhaps?
I can see the council rushing to refund all the fines as we speak...Mmm”
