Double success as Charlotte wins Miss Cornwall and Miss Charity
Held at Buzios bar in Newquay, the Miss Cornwall competition saw contestants from across the county battle it out for the coveted prize.
Charlotte, 20, will now go on to represent the county at Miss England, which takes place in just five weeks' time.
And the former Devonport High School For Girls' student said she was shocked when her name was called out as the winner.
"It was a really tough competition and I didn't know how well I'd do," she said.
"You never go to these competitions expecting to win, just hoping to win."
Charity
Charlotte was crowned Miss Cornwall Charity earlier in the night after raising £1,100 for the charity Tukae.
"I was delighted to win Miss Charity but I thought that as I had won that, I couldn't then win the overall Miss Cornwall event," added Charlotte.
"I was just so shocked when they read out my name at the end!"
It was the first time in the history of the event that the same contestant won both Miss Cornwall and Miss Cornwall Charity.
However, Charlotte, who has taken a break from beginning university for 12 months to focus on modelling, has already tasted success.
Back in 2007, she was crowned as the Face of Plymouth in a competition run by the Cornish Guardian's sister paper, the Plymouth Herald.
She said the event was something she would never forget.
"I had a fantastic time and there are at least five or six girls who I will definitely stay in touch with."
Elsewhere in the Miss Cornwall competition, Katie Helyer also from Torpoint, won the Miss Popularity award, for receiving more than 1,000 text votes. She wins a place in the semi-finals of Miss England 2010.
Organiser Becky Chapman said: "The event went really well – it was a great evening and we had a great winner. Fingers crossed she will do well in Miss England."
