Detectives said the gang mounted raids in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Devon and Cornwall between August 2007 and February this year.
The five men admitted a variety of offences and were jailed at Norwich Crown Court.
James Curtis, 48, of Littleport, Cambridgeshire, was given an indeterminate sentence; James Walter Curtis, 25, of Littleport, was given an indeterminate sentence; Mark Curtis, 18, of Littleport, was given a five-year term; Stanley Rainford, 46, of Littleport was given a six-year term; and Charles Lee, 43, of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, was given an indeterminate sentence.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Strong said the gang was “totally lawless”.
He added: “They believed they could do exactly what they pleased and, because of the extreme violence they used, they would always get away with it.”
James Curtis is the father of James Walter Curtis and Mark Curtis.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “They committed offences over a large area, they spared no thought for their victims who were brutally treated in frightening attacks. It was essential that they were caught.”
