Drakes Fine Jewellers gave the athletes engraved watches to mark their success in Beijing. John Hirshman, the managing director, said: "We send our warmest congratulations to Tonia and Tom. They have shown a fine example of professionalism and dedication in their sport, which they and the city of Plymouth can be truly proud of."
Tonia said: "I'm over the moon to be given this watch and really proud to have people recognise the efforts we put in. It's fantastic to know that people are behind us."
Tom said: "It's good to be back home again and I'm so excited and looking forward to the 2012 Olympics.
"It's brilliant to know that Plymouth is supporting me, and I'm really touched by Drakes Fine Jewellers to have given me a watch; everyone here has been so kind."
Both watches are water-resistant to 100 metres. Tom's is a Seiko Sportura 100m rose gold-plated sports chronograph . Tonia's is a Seiko Coutura 100m mother-of-pearl and stainless steel sports chronograph.
