Make it snappy for nativity pictures
Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 14:37
The festive season is just around the corner and The Herald needs you to contact us with your school's photography bookings for all nativity plays and festive celebrations.
We want to maintain our tradition of visiting as many schools as possible capturing every moment, so please book now to avoid disappointment.
Last year The Herald photographed more than 140 nativity plays.
To achieve this, photographers started taking pictures as early as the last two weeks in November, or as soon as the organisers had costumes ready.
To guarantee a visit from us and to make sure we are available to cover as many shows as possible, our photographers will start visiting schools as early as the last week in November to attend pre-arranged photo calls.
Please do not wait for the actual productions – it is far better to organise a photo-call as soon as costumes are available and young 'budding thespians' can be dressed especially for the photographs.
Once again, The Herald will be running up to two pages of Nativity and Christmas Play photographs every day throughout December.
So keep an eye out for your school, and also look on our website www.thisisplymouth.co.uk where our pictures will appear the day after the photos are taken.
Don't forget, you can buy Herald pictures by contacting our city centre shop in Armada Way or the reception at our main office in Derriford if you cannot get to a computer.
To arrange a time for a Herald photographer to visit, schools need to inform us as soon as possible. Telephone 01752 765528 or 765526 and speak to our Picture Desk. Remember, the sooner the visit, the better chance your children will be included in one of The Herald's Nativity Specials.

It would be much more appropriate to have an outsized bronze or even brightly coloured acryllic statue of one of Beryl Cook's Janner women.
