Music workshop will give clue to auditions
Chief examiner for London College of Music Philip Aldred has agreed to 'share his expertise' at a workshop to be held with the support of Peninsula Arts in the Roland Levinsky Building at the University of Plymouth next month.
Students of all ages and levels will have the opportunity to perform one of their favourite pieces for an informal appraisal, with guidance towards high achievement at exams or auditions.
Teachers will also be invited to discuss and share ideas about syllabus requirements and performance expectations. Geoff Davis, the representative for the LCM Plymouth Centre, said: "Music theatre is a balance of singing and acting. There are few subjects with such a wealth of variety, and there are plenty of openings in the South West to participate in musicals on stage." The workshop is to be held in Plymouth on Sunday October 4 at 2.30pm. For bookings – at £5 a person – and enquiries, call Geoff Davis on 01752 880135.
