Premier League trophy for city

FOOTBALL fans are in for a treat this week when an icon of the beautiful game visits Plymouth.

The Barclays Premier League Trophy is heading to the city this Friday as part of a UK-wide tour.

Drake Circus Shopping Centre will be the venue for the trophy's Plymouth visit, which coincides with the opening of Barclays new city centre branch.

Sporting enthusiasts who get up close to the trophy will also be entered in a prize draw to win tickets to a league game later this season.

"I am delighted to give people in Plymouth the chance to see the Barclays Premier League Trophy," said Jon Nance, branch manager.

"Everyone is welcome to come down and have their photo taken with the trophy."

The trophy will be in Drake Circus from 9am to 5pm this Friday.
