A PLYMOUTH mother has sent out a huge thank you and a plea for more help in raising funds for her son.

Anne-Marie Williams from the Hoe needs to raise as much money as possible for Conner, her 12-year-old son, who needs a new motorised wheelchair.

He suffers from hyper-mobility syndrome which affects his joints and muscles, causing him fatigue and pain. He also has dyspraxia which affects his co-ordination.

So far, with the help of others round the city, Anne-Marie has managed to raise £500.

"I'd like to send out a huge thank-you to everyone who's helped with events so far," she said, "especially to Chris Unwin's family after they organised a fantastic beach party outside the Three Crowns which I didn't even know anything about."

Anne-Marie has organised a quiz night at the Cider Press on the Barbican this Sunday at 8pm where a raffle will be drawn, with prizes including a signed pair of gloves from legendary city boxer Scott Dann and donations from Raiders, Argyle, Body Shop, the New Continental Hotel and the Astor Hotel.

Raffle tickets can be bought from Strathmore News on the Hoe or by calling 07870 637848.
