Singer Michelle is pub's new landlady

WELL-known city singer Michelle Lee is the new landlady of Stoke pub the Admiral Stopford Arms.

Mrs Lee, who performs under the name Shelley Sheree, has taken on the lease of the tied house in Devonport Road with her husband David, an experienced chef.

She will perform at the pub on the last Friday every month and says she intends to give it a reputation as a venue for music, entertainment and sport, while still offering meals all day.

The Admiral Taverns pub closed early in the new year when the previous tenant left, but reopened a week ago. Mr and Mrs Lee will live on the premises with their children, aged seven years and 19 months. Mrs Lee said: "I love a challenge."
