Leanne Williams, who works
with Certitude Training, has run a similar workshop to this one so was chosen
to work with GHQ on their new project.
On February 11th
eight young people aged between the ages of 16 – 19 began working with Leanne.
Their task is to set up a 'company' and organize and hold a fashion show within
twelve weeks!
In the first three days the
group recruited other 16 – 19 year olds to join them, chosen their company name
– Separated Society, selected the charities they want to raise money for, seured venues and have decided to organise not one but three events within week of each other!
Organising the fashion show
is a huge task. The group will need local companies to offer their services:
flowers, drapes, clothes, clothes and more clothes, printing, auction prizes
and purchasing advertising space in the programme. They will also require
models. If you think you can help with any of these please contact info@certitudetraining.co.uk.
The other event is a music event which they seem
to have covered too and after listening to some new local voices want to offer
them an opportunity to showcase their music! Once again if you know of anybodywho would ike to be part of the event, either performing, helping behind stage or offering their services as security (SIA operatives only)then contact Leanne@certtudetraining.co.uk
Already supporting the
group are The Duke of Cornwall Hotel who have offered the ballroom to them for their Fashion Show and Deep Blue Sound who have offered them a second venue, help and advice for
the events to be held on May 15th 2013 and May 22nd 2013.
This group are labeled as NEETs, which means they
are not in employment and not in training. They are not being paid to create
their event and have proved already they have great determination to
succeed. By coming into 'work' each day they are learning about time keeping, attitude, responsibility and team work and improve on a daily basis.
If you are looking to take
on an Apprentice, in twelve weeks' time, this group of NEETS will have real
experience and real potential.

“so much help already for the young and older generations, the middle aged sector gets overlooked every time.”
