“It absolutely incenses me that this idiot can waste my taxes on pointless marketing signs for something that a majority of people think is completely wrong. Plymouth is and has been for hundreds of years an "English Channel Port" something any navigational chart would have pointed out had the idiot bothered to check it out. I agree fully with Blackbeard the people of Plymouth should have been asked before their money was spent on such a foolish piece of propaganda. Why are the worlds Oceans and seas divided into areas and given names? So that people can relate to where places are around them, up until today the Atlantic Ocean was considered to be 75 miles or so Southwest of here. This idiot has not rebranded Plymouth he has rebranded the English Channel! I am sure this will just add to the disappointment of anyone coming to Plymouth expecting to see the Ocean who then check a chart and find it isn`t! Better contact the Hydrographic Survey and get the Navy`s Charts reprinted to reflect the English Channels re-branding/upgrading.”
“Technically Plymouth is not on an Ocean, but if the Chairman of the Council has leapt into action and commissioned signs, then well done, anything is better than last year's logo.
My choice because I work for Dynamic Holdings, would have been Plymouth:- City by the Sea”
