Raiders stunned at home by Pirates

PLYMOUTH Raiders have forgotten how to win basketball games.

They flirted with defeat for far too long against the BBL Championship's bottom club, Essex Pirates, who snapped a 10-game losing streak against Raiders at a listless Pavilions today.

It was a poor contest between two poor teams.

But the loss, Raiders' sixth on the spin in all competitions, dropped coach Gary Stronach's squad to 5-16, six wins back from 11-11 Worthing Thunder, who currently occupy the eighth and final play-off spot in the standings.
