Guitar Whisperer in Falmouth

THERE is no other guitar concert on tour anywhere in the world quite like Richard Durrant's The Guitar Whisperer – who comes to The Poly, Falmouth, on Tuesday.

The main body of the show is performed on classical guitar but it also includes a stunning version of Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint accompanied by animated film, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells played on ukulele, bodhran and guitar and a transcription of JS Bach for tenor banjo that can only be described as revelatory.

Richard studied guitar, cello and composition at the Royal College of Music, graduating with all college guitar prizes, a post graduate scholarship and a successful debut on London's South Bank.
