Luminous Night promised at Miss Peapod's
Six Organs of Admittance are best known for their remarkable album School of the Flower, which garnered the rare achievement of appearing in both The Wire magazine and Mojo's 50 best albums of 2005 lists while also being named by Devendra Banhart as one of his all time favourite things.
Its release on the Drag City label (home to Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Smog and Joanna Newsom) marked Ben Chasny's transition from small pressings of psych-folk recorded on a four-track tape machine to the studio recordings that have resulted in three unique guitar records, including this summer's phenomenal album, Luminous Night, which drew praise from a wide variety of corners.
"Luminous Night reflects the yin-yang duality of a player whose axework has fuelled both Comets On Fire;s freakout euphoria and the post-apocalyptic spook of Current 93." 4 stars, Mojo.
For this performance Ben Chasny will be joined by Elisa Ambrogio playing some wild guitar (you'll see...) and electronics, the renowned British drummer Alex Neilson and guitarist Andrew Mitchell. Support act Gala Drop hail from Portugal, and their groove would be best explained by a visit to their Myspace site
