Games between the Royal Marines and Plymouth Barbarians back in early September and the recent Remembrance Day match featuring the Combined Services against the Barbarians saw a figure of £41,182 collected from rugby supporters of the South West.
The proceeds raised from the two games have been donated to support past and current troops through Help the Heroes, the Royal Marines Benevolent Fund and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Fund.
Jan Hickling, Colour Sergeant of Commando Training Centre Royal Marines, said: "We would like to thank Plymouth Albion for hosting both events and also the people of the Westcountry for their support on the evening."
An Albion spokesperson added: "We'd like to thank all the Services for working so pro actively with us. We are very proud of the strong links between Plymouth Albion and all the branches of the Armed Forces. To raise such a sum is a wonderful example of the traditions of rugby."
