Town must cope without Way

It is an untimely setback for the Somerset side, who are in the Coca- Cola League One relegation zone and are preparing to face Tranmere Rovers at Huish Park tomorrow with a depleted squad.
Joining Plymouth-born Way among the spectators will be midfielder Lee Peltier and central defender Aaron Brown, who are both suspended, and midfielder Marc Bircham, who has an ankle injury. With a very small squad at his disposal, the last thing manager Russell Slade needed was another unavailable player – especially in midfield.
"It's devastating news for us," Slade said yesterday. "He [Way] has pulled his groin in training this morning, just taking a shot at goal, and he could be out for up to four weeks. We're disappointed with that, as we thought we would have fresh legs back for Saturday and that has been taken away from us. He was one of those fresh bodies we were counting on for the weekend."
Way missed Tuesday's 5-0 FA Cup defeat at Stockport County due to illness. Slade may be able to add to his squad before tomorrow's game if a loan deal for Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers can be completed in time. "He's in bed with 'flu and we're likely to finalise the deal tomorrow," the Glovers' boss said. "The deal has been finalised verbally."
