More roadworks planned for busy Plymouth routes in the New Year
PART of a major city traffic route will be partially closed next year as a water firm cleans a sewage pumping station.
South West Water has said Embankment Lane, in St Judes, will be closed for three nights in January.
In addition workers will close one lane of Embankment Road, one of the city's busiest roads, as part of the work.
The road closure will take place from January 14 until January 16, from 7pm until 7am on each day.

The lane closure – on the same dates and same times – will start near the railway bridge across Embankment Road.
It will end at the junction with Embankment Lane, heading in the direction of the city centre.
A spokesman for South West Water said: "We will be working hard to minimise disruption and complete the work as quickly as possible, but we would like to apologise to any customers who may be affected by this work."
The work will cause a further headache for motorists, following lengthy roadworks which have just finished at Laira Bridge and current overnight repairs to the Marsh Mills flyover.

“Ok Foldartt - I have looked again and see that Embankment Lane is closed but have to agree with PlymFox - an overnight closure for three nights is only going to be a slight inconvenience, nothing like the doom and gloom the headline hints at.”

“Closing a road for 3 nights? Hardly going to cause too many problems you would think. The way the Herald words its story is once again to portray doom and gloom along with utter chaos. The alternative is to leave the sewer as it is (as I am sure some would rather nothing was done to any road in Plymouth) and then eventually it will get blocked up and create a horrendous stench.”
