PLYMOUTH Albion Ladies under-18s took on two teams at once in a tough clash at Brickfields.

Albion were facing a powerful combination of Cullompton Albion and Taunton Fillies and lost 26-0.

They found it hard going in the early exchanges, but were able to hold Fillies at bay aided by some superb tackling by Imogen Brown on the wing and scrum-half Jess Veacock.

Albion, boosted by several Cullompton players themselves, nearly scored when number eight Kim Barber chipped the ball ahead and then kicked through to the 22, only to be tackled without the ball.

The score remained 0-0 until just before half-time when Taunton scored an unconverted try.

Albion started the second half the stronger and appeared to have scored after Paige Sim, Sian Hobday, Beth Durrans and Barber drove a maul over the line, only to be held up.

More strong defence from Albion, with Alish Sinclair standing out, was not enough to stop three, converted Taunton tries.

A collection among supporters for Children in Need raised £25.

ALBION Ladies under-15s won 42-5 against Cullompton.

Lydia Gannon stood out alongside tries from Hannah McArthur (3), Lucy Beighton (2), Harriet Inglis, Courtney Gill and Molly Luffman.

Conversions were by Tandiwe Wallace-Sims.

In a second match, the under-15s defeated Taunton 22-0.

Wallace-Sims collected two tries and landed the conversions.

Other tries came from Luffman and Kezia Lee was awarded player of the match.

Tavistock U10...0 Devonport Services U10...10

TWO evenly-balanced and determined sides met each other twice, in the drizzle at Tavistock on Sunday.

The first game was a tight affair.

Devonport's forwards warmed up to the task and Tom Brooker benefited from sustained pressure from Josh Atwill and Pearce Woodman to drive away from a maul and burst through to score.

Shortly afterwards Atwill crossed to add to the scoreline, which finished 10-0. In the second game between the sides, Devonport's Adam White pounced on a loose ball to open the scoring.

However, from then on Tavistock dominated with Callum Dewson and George Hilson crossing three times to make it 15-5.

Devonport Services U11...7 Tavistock U11...12

TAVISTOCK got the first try in the second half to go 5-0 ahead.

Owen Paterson scored a Devonport try with Jack Roper getting the conversion to take the lead 7-5.

With seconds to spare, Tavistock snatched another try, converted to win 12-7. Devonport coach Andy Brace awarded their man of the match to Abraham Velasco-Cruz.

Saltash U13...17 Liskeard/Looe U13...5

SALTASH hosted a Liskeard side big on determination but small in number, so six Ashes players took to the field in the hoops of Liskeard, who took a 5-0 lead.

After a great break from flanker Rob Wilkinson the Ashes centre Krys Lane went over to level the scores at 5-5 at half-time.

In the second half, the Ashes' fly-half Tom Martin scorched over to take the lead.

The final score came from a well-worked move. Good ball allowed skipper and number eight Phil Eatwell to break and offload to Lane who scuttled over under the posts. Tom Martin added the extras.

Man of the match for the Ashes was inside centre Connor Davies.

Liskeard/Looe U14...14 Saltash U14...12

A BREAK in the eighth minute put the home side ahead which soon followed with a second converted try.

The Ashes, 14 points down at the start of the second half, raised their heads and took the game to the home side.

Pearce Hancock, aided by Jack Chapman put the first five points on the board for the visitors. Doug Shirley converted to make it 14-7.

After a nailbiting exchange of possession Kieran Thomas went over to make it 14-12.

Devonport Services U15...22 Newton Abbott U15...3

IN THE Devon Cup first round Newton Abbott took an early lead with a well-struck penalty following early handling errors from Services.

Services replied through captain J Arnott, who ran in the first try.

A second Services try followed again courtesy of Arnott which C Attis converted to make it 12-3.

In the second half Services' J Evans scored with an excellent finish to take the score to 17-3.

The final try came from Attis.

IVYBRIDGE Colts strolled through their first match in the National Cup, destroying Devonport Services 66-0.

Devonport kicked off but within a couple of minutes had conceded a penalty 30 metres from their line, with Colts' Tommy Newman stepping up to kick the first three points of the match.

The Greens' Phil Bradshaw next broke free from a maul for a solo try from 30 metres out.

Devonport conceded three more penalties in three minutes and on the last attempt the Ivybridge kick went over for another three points.

Ivybridge continued to attack and winger Sam Richardson and full-back Chris Mayo both added tries to make the scoreline 25-0.

In the second half Richardson crossed again. Shortly after, second rower Ollie Brown scored a try.

Ivybridge then opened up with two tries from Pete Abraham, one from Toby Borrow and two from Dean Curtis.

They will take on Taunton or Cleve in the next round, scheduled to be played in January.
