It's all downhill from here for Laura
IF I WEREN'T TALKING TO YOU, RIGHT NOW I'D BE…
Going into town to pick up the wheels for my skateboard which have come from America. I've been panicking that they wouldn't arrive in time.

ADVOCATE: Laura wants skaters to be more widely accepted
OTHER THAN SKATEBOARDING I'M GOOD AT...
Ice-skating. It was my job at the Pavilions for two years.
BUT I'M BAD AT…
Switching off my computer and relaxing. I'm an obsessive organiser.
I CHOSE HELP FOR HEROES BECAUSE…
It's a fantastic charity doing a fantastic job that is very much needed. I feel we should honour those who go away not knowing if they will come back again.
THE LONGEST DISTANCE I'VE SKATEBOARDED IN A DAY…
Is a world record 102.7 miles, around the rowing lake at Eton College in 2008.
THE FASTEST I'VE DONE ON A BOARD IS…
About 35-40mph on the cycle path coming down Crownhill. I was matching the traffic. It was exhilarating but hairy.
IF I WERE AN MP…
I'd advise everybody to take more environmentally friendly forms of transport to work and school and encourage young people to take up skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX rather than alienating them.
SKATEBOARDING GETS A BAD PRESS BECAUSE…
It's seen as going against the grain. Perhaps older people forget they were children once.
IN 10 YEARS' TIME I WANT TO BE…
Working my way through a career teaching, maybe an assistant head, encouraging kids to achieve their goals and pushing strongly, still doing all the skateboarding but older and wiser. I'm starting a teacher training course at Marjon in September.
PLYMOUTH IS GREAT BECAUSE…
There are lots of amazing longboard runs in the town. There's so much concrete. One thing that came out of the sadness and destruction of World War Two was a redesigned city that's great for skateboarding.
BUT IF I COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT THE CITY…
I'd have more environmentally friendly ways of getting around accepted in the city centre. Cyclists can go through but I get hassle on a skateboard even though I'm wearing a helmet and a high-vis jacket.
