Cosmo Gym fighters get set for RICC
Middleweight Paul Brown, welterweight Jimmy Briggs, light welterweight Dean Mills and lightweights John Vanemmenis and Jamie Speight all return to the ring on Saturday, October 24.
Top of the bill is the eight-round clash between Torquay light welterweight Ali Wyatt and Adam Cummings, of Bristol.
Brown (pictured above) is paired with South Wales' Garry Cooper, Briggs meets Bristol's Dan Stewart and Mills takes on Lydney's Chris Higgs – all over six rounds.
Super featherweight Mills is one of Cosmo's star turns and is unbeaten since losing on points on his debut against Plymouth's Dave 'Dezzy' O'Connor at Plymouth Guildhall in November, 2007.
Subsequently, Mills has won three and drawn twice, while Higgs has won all four of his pro bouts.
Another interesting match-up features the all-Cosmo meeting between the unbeaten Exeter-based Speight and Bideford's Vanemmenis.
Both fighters receive their programme and training from Glyn Mitchell's Crownhill-based gym.
Speight will be hoping to stretch his promising professional career to three straight victories over the entertaining Vanemmenis, whose career has gone off the boil after a promising start two years ago.
The busy Briggs, too, is at a crossroads in his career, having put in the rounds but only won twice in a 15-bout career which began at the Guildhall in September, 2007.
Also on the bill, Exeter's Lewis Browning takes on Wolverhampton journeyman Delroy Spencer in a light welterweight six-rounder.
The seventh contest features Swindon unbeaten middleweight Marlon Reid in a six-rounder with Reading's Gambia-born Patrick Mendys.
The final contest sees Plymouth-based female fighter Kristine Shergold finally catch up with Angel McKenzie in a super featherweight contest.
Shergold, who trains out of Carl's Boxing Stable, had been scheduled to trade leather with McKenzie earlier this year.
However, McKenzie snubbed the 28-year-old in preference for a stint on TV reality programme Big Brother.
