DEVONPORT Service narrowly booked their place in the next round of the National Colts' Cup.
Taunton struck first with a penalty inside five minutes from the boot of full-back Josh Hill.

The score stayed at 7-3 until the last play of the half when Hill closed the gap for Taunton with a penalty.
The second half saw Taunton controlling the scrums but the drive of Services' players and excellent tackling meant that they had most of the territory.
On 20 minutes a chip through by the Services winger looked to be going dead but just rolled inside the line for Alex Lambert to dive on and score.
At 12-6 down Taunton never gave up. A drive by a number of their players for the line was held up initially, but at the second attempt Adrian Cotton came up with the ball to narrow the gap to 12-11.
However, a missed conversion and a later missed penalty kept Services in front by a point.
A second chip through by Services just rolled over the line and with both sides having players sidelined, Services held on to win by a point.
UNDER-13s DEVON CUP
Plymstock ...22 Topsham...0
PLYMSTOCK progressed through to the quarter-finals of the Devon Cup with a superb win against a good Topsham side.
The conditions did not hamper the running rugby that the under-13s try to play and with the forwards creating a sound platform, Oaks' backs were able to gain territorial advantage against the wind in the first half.
This led to scores from Adam Carter and Nathan Garlick with Dominic Street converting one to hand Plymstock a 12-0 lead.
Topsham came back into the game in the second half but were unable to break Plymstock's impressive defence, with tackle after tackle thwarting their raids. Plymstock slowly started to dominate and scored two further tries, again through Carter and Garlick, to hand Plymstock a thoroughly deserved 22-0 win.
