Will it be trick or treat for Albion?

PLYMOUTH Albion are planning a Halloween party at Brickfields tomorrow.

And supporters will be hoping the players can produce a treat for them against high-flying Nottingham rather than scaring them away with another home horror show.

Albion produced a poor display in their last match at Brickfields when they were beaten 21-6 by struggling Doncaster.

They then followed that up with a 26-10 defeat at Coventry last Friday.

It means Albion enter tomorrow's fixture against second-placed Nottingham sitting third from bottom of the Championship table with just two wins to their name this season.

But Albion's boss Graham Dawe insists he still has every belief his young and inexperienced squad can turn their fortunes around – starting tomorrow against a Nottingham side who have won their last seven Championship matches.

"I do believe in this group of players," said chairman of rugby Graham Dawe.

"They really work hard for each and they deserve a break."

He added: "They have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks, but have not got many league points to show for it, but hopefully, this weekend they can turn their fortunes around.

"We know it is going to be extremely tough against a good Nottingham side.

"However, all we can do is give it the best we can."

Nottingham have not lost since the opening day of the season when the Cornish Pirates beat them.

But Albion did beat them 26-25 at Brickfields last season and Dawe insists nobody in this season's Championship is unbeatable.

"Doncaster lost six games in a row but a win was just around the corner for them," said Dawe. "And a defeat is always around the corner for a team that has been on a winning run.

"Of course, we believe we can turn them over."

However, Dawe knows his team must play better than they did against Coventry in their last outing.

"We made too many errors and our penalty count was too high to win a game of rugby against a good team," said Dawe. "So we have to aim a lot higher.

"Our ultimate aim is to win."

TO CELEBRATE Halloween, Albion will admit all children in fancy dress into the ground for free, if accompanied by an adult tomorrow. The adult with the child will also be admitted for half price.
