What a waste
IN RESPONSE to Cllr Grant Monahan's comments (Saturday) with regard to the closure of the Welby respite unit.
In my view, the city council treated the closure of Welby in the same manner it is treating the decision on the building of the incinerator. It appears they make up their minds about a course of action, whether it is closing Welby or building an incinerator, and then to give an appearance of being democratic they put in place an expensive consultation process. The council then ignores the views of the people of Plymouth expressed in the consultation, and goes ahead with their original plan. What a waste of public money.
I am seriously concerned whether this council is representing the chargepayers of Plymouth. The choice of the overwhelming majority of Welby users was that it should not close.
